Master of Engineering Management ( MEM) is a professional degree set up in 2010. In January 2010, the 27th meeting of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council examined and approved the Master of Finance and other 19 master degrees. The meeting determined to set up the master degree of Engineering Management.
Beijing Institute of Technology became one of the first schools authorized to grant a master degree of Engineering Management. The program started enrollment in 2011.
